Margin Release on My Olympia Typewriter - Update
First of all, let me say THANK YOU for all the assistance I received from the typosphere on my last blog post about this Olympia typewriter. It means a lot when people take the time to respond and even create a video (thanks Scott!). I've still not been able to...

My J. Herbin Wax Seal
Back in the day when we had a house full of children and Christmas was, if not richer than now, filled more with things hand made, we sealed our hand made Christmas cards with wax. I recall that one of the issues was the wax sometimes sticking to the metal seal. If memory serves, and it is an unreliable, somewhat doddery old servant, I would park it on an ice cube to solve the problem. Thanks for the memory, and the idea that, since I am into exchanging decorated letters with my grandchildren, I might start using it for those.

Neat. Wax seals have an undeniable charm. I used to use sealing wax in my teens.

Thanks for the comment, Tony. This new type of sealing wax is probably a bit easier to use than what you had to deal with years ago. Check out these handy videos: http://www.gouletpens.com/J_Herbin_Red_Supple_Sealing_Wax_p/h331-20.htm

Thanks Richard. I really like the kit I bought. After all, who doesn't like to play with fire?

Dang...and all this time I thought ceiling wax was for, well, you know, waxing your ceilings!
