One Week Ago . . .

IMG_1219.JPG
It's hard to believe that one week ago, I was looking at this. It was snowy and COLD! Today was rainy and in the 50's. Big change! I consider my retreat at St. Meinrad's a gift from God. The snow was just icing on the cake! I thought I'd post one of my favorite pics from last week. This will probably be my last snow shots of the winter. Resurrection is only a week away. It won't be long until the grass will turn green and I'll be wishing for snow again.

Pax.

Brrrr . . .

Picture_1

Brrrr . . . it's cold in Kentucky this morning. I took a screen shot from Weather.gov to show you the temps here. I like snow. I love accumulating snow. I don't mind the cold temperatures so much when snow is a part of the forecast. However, I'm not too fond of brutally cold temperatures without any snow whatsoever. Unfortunately, that's the state of things in Lexington right now. You don't see the temperature drop to single digits or hover around zero very often in these parts.

I do remember a brutally cold, snowy winter while we still lived on a farm. I remember riding the tractor with my dad to go pick up round bales of hay for the cattle and it was so snowy and icy, that the tractor was sliding all over the place. It was the same day we drove through three feet high snow drifts just to get to the dairy barn. Oh, and it was the very same night that the grain in the loft actually froze and wouldn't come down the grain chute. By far, that's the coldest night I remember. We started milking the cows around 4 or 5 p.m. that night and what would have taken a few hours took until 1 a.m. the next day to finish.

So, I guess I'll be hanging inside most of the day since it's too cold to do any photography or even take a walk. If we could just get some snow! I think the BCP needs a prayer for snow. Can someone work on that for me?

Kentucky Weather

Brrrr . . . it's definitely cold in central Kentucky this morning. The temperature is only 10 degrees fahrenheit with a wind chill below zero. We do have a little snow on the ground but not a lot. I like the snow but I don't care for these cold temperatures. I don't think my car likes them either.

Stay warm!

Where's The Snow?

Where's the snow? When Heather and I lived in Northern KY, central KY got all the snow. Now, since we live in Lexington, the reverse seems to be true. It's definitely cold here this morning. Going to be 27 for today's high. The wind sounds like it's going to blow our house away. So, we have cold temperatures, lots of wind and no snow. What's up with that?
